About this Event
Join us for our first annual Willows Mansion For the HILL of it Challenge, a 30-minute, community-powered endurance challenge—complete with music, prizes, and friendly competition. Gather yourself or your team, take on the hill, and help us raise essential funds to support revitalization and programming at the Willows Mansion. Each step supports restoration, stewardship, and the natural beauty that makes the Mansion and surrounding park worth climbing for.
How it works: Register as an INDIVIDUAL or TEAM (5 people) and ready yourselves at our start line at 1:30pm. Participants will challenge themselves to walk up and down the Willows Mansion's picturesque adjoining hill for a period of 30 minutes. You may use whatever strategy you wish—take turns with your teammates relay style or stick to a slow-and-steady walk.
Prizes will be awarded for FUNDRAISING HERO (most money raised), BEST DRESSED FOR A CAUSE (most creative/spirited attire), and the SPIRIT AWARD (overall most positive attitude throughout the walk). More than one winner will be chosen per category.
Registration: Register as a team of 5 ($100) or as an individual ($20 per person). Children under the age of 13 may participate on a pay-what-you-wish basis.
All participants must register via Eventbrite, regardless of payment method.
Fundraising: For those who wish to support the Willows Park Preserve beyond the individual or team registration fee, there will be a prize for the top three For the Hill of it fundraisers! Peer‑to‑peer fundraising means each participant becomes an ambassador for the cause. Walkers can raise money directly from their own networks—friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors. It’s powerful because people give to people they know, and ot provides an opportunity for you to share the great work that the Willows Park Preserve is doing to restore, maintain and operate the Willows Mansion so all of us can use it. Any additional fundraising sums will be collected at the event upon check-in .

This challenge will take place during our annual Wellness Week at the Willows Wellness Fair, complete with vendors, food, and activities for kids and adults. Not only will this event kick off one week of free wellness classes at the Mansion, but challenge proceeds will directly benefit the Willows Park Preserve, a nonprofit organization that dedicated to revitalizing and maintaining the Willows Mansion for community use.
