SATURDAY
Learn how to grow, manage and cut different types of willow for weaving. We will also create a beautiful living willow fence.
SUNDAY
We will focus entirely on basket making. You will weave your own a colonial basket to take home.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. You will be supported to develop a feel for the material and start developing your craft. You will gain competence at sourcing and sorting your own material.
You will learn in a relaxed, enjoyable, interactive setting.
You will be given some complementary willow cuttings to take home so you can grow what you need to continue weaving!

Price includes organic catering. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible.
Sliding scale is to accommodate people on lower incomes. Please pay what you can afford to help balance out costs.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Astrid is a talented grower, artist and craftsperson. She meets most of her needs from her 1 1/2 acre site in West Clare. Basket making is an important part of her self-sufficient lifestyle and she has become proficient at this craft. Her aim is to create baskets as she needs them rather than to create the most beautiful basket.
