Come and learn how to make a round willow fruit bowl on this one day workshop. Suitable for complete beginners, or those with some previous weaving experience, you will learn the techniques of stake and strand basketry. You will learn how make a round base, how to add and secure the side stakes, weave the sides of the basket, while controlling its shape, and how to finish your basket with a flowing rod border.The day starts at 9:30 and we will work until your basket is completed, usually at around 5:30.
We will share a simple vegetarian lunch and the joy of learning new skills and creating something beautiful and functional in a like-minded group!
Working with willow does require a certain level of strength and dexterity in the hands. Come prepared to work hard and you will be so proud of what you can achieve in a day!
