About this Event
Having experienced a number of requests for a lovely cut flower basket, Sarah Le Breton has designed and created this rectangular basket especially for you to make at this one day workshop.
You’ll be weaving with willow grown on the local Somerset Levels.
LEARN: The fundamentals of how to make a square work base for use with the English stake and strand basketry method, or as with our flower basket, to create a hybrid technique platter base. A 3 rod chasing wale weave, a symmetrical stepped trac border.
ABILITY: Suitable for adventurous beginners. Also great for those with existing basket weaving experience as you’ll be able to learn tips and tricks on how to hone your square work bases.
VENUE: Chevithorne Village Hall, Chevithorne, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7PU. (15 minutes from M5, junction 27, 5 mins from A361 dual carriageway).
TIME: 9.15 arrival for 9.30am start. 5.45pm finish (approximately).
DETAILS: Maximum of 8 participants. Price includes all materials and refreshments. Tools provided. Sarah has teamed up with a lovely local caterer who provides us with a delicious homemade lunch of soup, sourdough bread, cheesy biscuits and cake. £12.50 Lunch payable on the day by card or cash.
