Spend a hands-on day learning the traditional craft of willow basket weaving in the beautiful setting of Abbey House.This single-day workshop is ideal for beginners or anyone curious about working with willow. You’ll be guided step by step through the process of creating your own round basket, learning core techniques of basket weaving, bordering and handles. Throughout the day you will be introduced to each technique and the tools required and given guidance as you apply your new skills.
All materials and tools are provided, so you can simply turn up and get weaving. By the end of the day, you’ll head home with a finished basket and the confidence to explore willow work further.

No previous experience needed.

Booking is via the Glastonbury Abbey website.
A link to an eTicket is issued via email and should be downloaded in advance of the workshop.
All materials and tools are included in the price.
Workshops are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.
Wear enclosed footwear and bring an apron.
Pets are not permitted at Abbey House.
As Abbey House is not open to the public, only ticket holders can be permitted entry.
