About this Event
Dr Michael Scanlan is a lecturer in politics at the University of Glasgow and lives locally. Prior to this, Before academia, Michael worked in public relations and public affairs across a number of sectors including the European Parliament.
Michael’s academic interests include populism, radical politics, identity and, in particular, helping people make sense of a confusing world.
In this talk, Michael will navigate what politics and democracy really are and how we can understand and interpret them.
Michael also runs the first year Politics module at Glasgow University “Politics 1A: Introduction to Politics.”
