Classes are held from 9-1 each day. Cost is $50/ day. Every student needs to bring a re-usable water bottle and a lunch. It is July so please dress in clothing that will be cool and comfortable. Hats are recommended. We will be using basic tools from the Wilderness Warriors survival kit (kits are for purchase for $50). Day 1: Shelter Day
Campers will learn how to design and build safe, weather-ready shelters using natural materials found in the environment. Through hands-on teamwork, they’ll explore different shelter types, practice site selection, and test their designs against real-world challenges like rain, wind, and heat. This class builds problem-solving skills, confidence, and cooperation. By the end of the day, campers will have constructed a functional shelter and gained a deeper respect for the natural world.
Day 2: Knots and Furniture Making Day
Get ready to build, tie, and create in the great outdoors! In this hands-on wilderness skills day, campers will learn essential knot-tying techniques and use them to build real bushcraft furniture. We will be constructing simple benches.
Day 3: Fire Basics Day
Campers will learn the fundamentals of fire as a survival tool—how it has been used for warmth, cooking, light, and signaling throughout history. This class focuses on fire safety, responsible decision-making, and understanding fire behavior in different environments. Through demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on simulations campers build respect for fire’s power while learning why safe practices and environmental stewardship are essential in the wilderness.
Day 4: Primitive Cooking Day
Get ready to spark adventure! During primitive cooking day, kids will step into the world of early explorers and learn how to safely build primitive-style fires and cook simple foods outdoors. They’ll learn how heat changes food, how to cook safely outdoors, and how teamwork makes the process smoother and more fun.
Day 5: Sling Shot Making Day
Get ready for a hands-on outdoor adventure! In this fun hands-on day, campers will learn how to craft their own bushcraft-style slingshots using natural materials and simple hand tools. Campers will explore how early outdoorsmen used creativity and resourcefulness to make tools from nature.
