About this Event

About this event

Ever wondered how bird surveys are carried out, or wanted to improve your bird identification skills? Join NSHN volunteer Tom Darron for a WeBS (Wetland Bird Survey) walk around the Woolsington Parish Ponds.

This national survey helps monitor the health of our wetland bird populations across the UK. During the visit, you’ll learn how a WeBS count is done, get tips on identifying common wetland species, and have the chance to contribute to real conservation science.

Please bring binoculars if you have them, weather suitable clothing and sturdy footwear, and perhaps snacks/a flask of something warm to drink!

Please note - this event can't go ahead in heavy rain. If it needs to be rescheduled you will be notified as soon as possible.
