About this Event
Join local wildlife guide and photographer Harry Rice (Chiltern Wildlife), alongside Andy Washington, for a relaxed and engaging wildlife photography and spotting workshop in Wendover Woods.
This experience is designed for both photographers and wildlife lovers, combining practical learning with time out in nature. We’ll start with a short introduction covering key fieldcraft skills — how to spot wildlife, approach it responsibly, and make the most of your camera in a woodland setting.
We’ll then head out on a guided walk through Wendover Woods, one of Buckinghamshire’s best locations for woodland wildlife. Along the way, we’ll look for a variety of species including woodland birds, birds of prey, and mammals, while discussing behaviour, habitats, and how to improve your chances of getting great views and photos.
After the walk, we’ll regroup in the café for a relaxed discussion. This is a chance to chat through what we’ve seen, ask questions, and touch on editing and photography techniques.
Harry holds a PhD in climate change risk and is also a qualified mindfulness instructor, bringing a unique approach that blends wildlife knowledge, photography, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Andy Washington is an experienced wildlife photographer and long-time London Wildlife Trust volunteer, with a strong knowledge of urban and woodland wildlife and fieldcraft.
Whether you’re looking to improve your photography, learn more about wildlife, or simply enjoy a guided experience in nature, this workshop offers a welcoming and rewarding way to do it.
