Wildfire season is here. Preparedness starts before disaster strikes. Join Santa Fe County and local/state wildfire experts for Wildfire Education Day on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hondo Fire Station (645 Old Las Vegas Highway).
Residents can:
Meet wildfire and emergency preparedness experts
Find their evacuation zone with GIS
Try the Fire Extinguisher Simulator
Learn how to better protect homes and property
Get preparedness tips, alerts, resources, and more
Participating agencies include Santa Fe County Fire Department, OEM, RECC, State Forestry, State Fire Marshal, Forest Stewards Guild, and additional public safety partners.
This free event is focused on building awareness, strengthening preparedness, and helping our communities become more wildfire ready.
