Wild Writing - group classes to discover your natural voice. Early bird discount available.

Henri Nouwen said: Writing is a process in which we discover what lives in us. The writing itself reveals to us what is alive in us. The deepest satisfaction of writing is precisely that it opens up new spaces within us of which we were not aware before we started to write. To write is to embark on a journey of which we do not know the final destination. Thus, writing requires a great deal of trust. We have to say to ourselves, "I do not yet know what I carry in my heart, but I trust that it will emerge as I write.

Wild Writing is a practice that uses poetry to help deepen your self-knowledge and stimulate your creativity. Writers meet in person or online and form a sacred circle of support and trust.

Testimonials from Scottish Poetry Library Members

I cannot speak highly enough of the wild writing classes. I came in the hope it would spark my creativity and inspiration again and it did exactly that. I found myself writing more now beyond the class and will be attending more in the future. I really enjoyed being in this space to share our work, judgement free.

I found the safe space and poetic prompts allowed me to express what needed to be expressed, which for me went deep. It was a healing experience for me and I am grateful to have found it at this point on my journey. I also loved discovering new poets and being part of holding space for others sharing their experiences.

About Lorna French

"I am the author of 8 contemporary romances that have been translated into over 15 languages and sold worldwide. I believe that the stories we tell ourselves and others today are as important as myths and fairy tales were to our ancestors - and I am passionate about helping others find the true note of their soul, through writing.

Writing and teaching were held in a careful balance for the first half of my life and now that I am most definitely in the second half, I proudly reclaim the Teacher archetype, as a commitment to personal development, continuous learning and sharing wisdom with others.

As a certified Wild Writing teacher, I lead small groups of (mostly) women to let loose their wild side, to dive in to their unconscious and find their buried treasure. Wild Writers are creatives or public sector workers or teenagers or any other type of human who is boldly and often messily transforming on their hero’s or heroine’s journey.

I continue to support leaders in the public sector, helping them to bring their best selves into work that can sometimes seem overwhelming. And of course, I continue to write reports, emails and novels, poems and my weekly salve - Wild Writing responses to beautiful poetry, with my beautiful students. Join us!"
