About this Event
The David Balfour Park and Yellow Creek loop is one of the great quiet secrets of midtown Toronto. Three kilometers of boardwalk, footbridges, and packed-earth trail through one of the deepest ravines in the city, where the traffic disappears thirty steps in and you're suddenly walking under a forest canopy that feels nothing like the streets above.
We'll meet at the trailhead at 100 St Clair Avenue East, gather as a group, and head down into the ravine with one of our expert guides. Expect dramatic boardwalk crossings, the soft brown water of Yellow Creek running under the bridges, mature maples and beeches overhead, and the occasional red-tailed hawk circling above. Wildlife to look for: woodpeckers, chipmunks, the flick of a deer's white tail in the brush.
Easy pace, no hurry, plenty of time to talk. A great way to find your kind of people in a slice of the city most don't know exists. 18+. Beginners welcome.
