About this Event
The lower Humber is a natural oasis in the heart of the city, and most Torontonians have never seen it. We'll meet at the put-in, fit you with a PFD and paddle, run a quick lesson with one of our expert guides, then pair you up on a canoe with someone new. An hour on the water spotting kingfishers, herons, and the occasional beaver, with a crew you'll likely walk away with as friends.
Suitable for beginners. 18+.
Run in partnership with Toronto Adventures.
What to wear and bring
Dress for the weather and to get a little splashed. Quick-dry clothing is your friend; jeans are not.
To wear:
- Athletic or quick-dry layers (Toronto in May can swing from 12 to 22)
- Closed-toe shoes that can get wet (old sneakers or water shoes, no flip flops)
- A hat and sunglasses, with a retainer if you have one
- Sunscreen on already
To bring:
- Water bottle
- Light rain jacket, just in case
- A small towel and dry layer for after
- Phone in a waterproof bag or sleeve if you want photos
- ID for the waiver
We provide the canoe, paddle, PFD, and a guide who knows what they're doing.
