As humans we are frequently facing some upset or upheaval. Losses both significant and trivial. Avoiding or fighting against the unpredictability of life rarely works out well. We can feel ungrounded, irritable, lost and lacking a compass.
Unforeseen, unwanted situations, offer both disappointment and the opportunity to respond in a spontaneous, artful way. As Gabrielle Roth states simply “Chaos is Art”.
Over the weekend we will move the aliveness of our fear with courage. Softening, slowing down and listening to the subtle messages as we dance with chaos into lyrical and stillness. Cultivating patience to allow new possibilities to arise.
We can let go of thinking we know what we need, and become receptive to what we are being given and draw on what already resides within us.
We recommend you have attended some 5Rhythms Waves classes prior to attendance. This workshop counts for 1.5 days of Heartbeat + 1 day of Waves pre-req. for the 5R Teacher Training.
The Friday night is both the beginning of the workshop and is also open to dancers to have an one-night experience of 5Rhythms an overview of the content.
