The Official Selections are in... "Sci-fi & Fantasy" short films from all around the world, the awards, and QnA in 4 hrs. The cinema also has a bar and coffee areas for informal networking before, during, and (most importantly) afterwards.
The Wild Indie Sci-Fi and Fantasy Film Festival is an establishing feature on the UK Short film scene. Hosted at the Greenwich iMAX Odeon Theatre in London, the event will include the Micro 2 minute Sci-Fi Challenge.
Foundry, the software wizards, have provided a stunning prize for the overall winner, and there are a number of awards and prizes for the Micro (2min), Mini (10min), and Short (25min) film categories within the genre. Stan Winston School of Character Arts, Crixus Studios (really close to Greenwich), Frameforge, and Final Draft are all providing further prizes. We may also refund the ticket price for the best dressed attendee as well. The 2 min Sci-Fi Challenge is a competition to create a 2 min sci-fi themed film for the competition. The whole festival event is completely independent of Wild Indie's own productions.
The event is open to all (UK, Worldwide, The Up/Down/Side/Side Dimensions, even the Outer Spiral Arm of the Galaxy). English language films are preferred; other languages may be included with closed captioning. The awards are detailed on the filmfreeway and social media pages.
The genre is Sci-Fi & Fantasy. So that's anything aliens, weird tech, dragons, superheroes, A.I., manmade monsters, dystopian futures, bizarre pasts, time travel, and just about anything that might fit.
Other genres and elements such as comedy, horror, or romance, can feature as long as a significant portion of the story is the festival main themes but because of these themes, we are an adult audience.
