Did you know that the Sonoran Desert is actually a rich food forest? Meet with Chad Borseth and GreenBee on the first weekend of each month to learn about the plentiful free foods growing around us.On the first of the series, Saturday May 2nd, we’ll spend time wandering around the GreenBee Gardens as an example of how much wild food is available in our nearby urban environments - some may surprise you with their edible leaves, flowers, fruits or seeds!
Saturday, May 2nd, Open Garden from 4-7pm
-- 4:30pm wild food tour
--- followed by optional community potluck meal highlighting some of these foods
----> $10-20 suggested donation
(until things are free, we appreciate your donations that support Chad, our events, and the overall GreenBee mission; no one turned away for lack of funds)
- GreenBee Open Gardens features:
-- extensive rainwater harvesting (passive and active)
-- 9x12 enclosed (to avoid too much wildlife sharing) garden house with raised beds
-- sustainably built Catio
-- in progress outdoor shower
-- lots of native flora and fauna, plus fruit trees and your more typical food plants
-- and meditation labyrinth, like minded friends, greywater (laundry to landscape), and more...
