About This Event
Unlock the secrets of the landscape on this hands-on, full-day foraging and cookery adventure. Guided by Gavin—military-trained, first aid certified, and with over 30 years’ experience—you’ll explore meadows, woodlands, and hedgerows, learning to spot and safely gather edible wild plants and fungi.
What’s Included:
- Extended Foraging Walk: Up to 4–5 km (tailored to group ability), identifying at least 15–20 edible wild species. Learn safe identification, ethical harvesting, and the folklore behind your finds.
- Hands-On Cookery: Set up a simple outdoor kitchen and turn your foraged haul into a multi-dish wild feast—think soups, stews, fritters, salads, and homemade wild condiments. All prepared and enjoyed together.
- Expert Guidance: Practical tips, field-tested recipes, and stories from decades of foraging and teaching.
- Q&A Throughout: Ask about safety, sustainability, recipes, or how to get started at home.
