Join us for the latest in The Creative Collective's series of shows at Down By Here.Wild Eyed, Wicked & Oblivious
Wild Eyed, Wicked And Oblivious are a great band to see live. Original, quirky folk music with great harmonies, and a wonderful sense of fun. Toe tapping, sing along songs. Their music is refreshingly different.
Folk with a hint of 60's harmonies, African rhythums, ska, a tea chest bass, and electronic wind instrument, 12 and six sting acoustic guitars, mandolin and a great percussion.....Singing tales about nature, the past, peace, love, mysterious things and zulu dreams. We encourage singing along, dancing without light pollution , and a copper-waltz.
Wild Eyed, Wicked and Oblivious blend original lyrics, with tight harmonies and changing lead voices, that rise to simple repetitive choruses that can be quickly learnt, with great rhythms and strong percussion, making it impossible not to tap and dance along. The Ewi and it's the massive range of moods, combines with Islywn’s home made tea crate base... a single string held taught above a hefty rectangular sounding box, something so simple shouldn’t be so good but it is....
Hearthlight
'Hearthlight' is a wholesome, joyous and easy to enjoy band with a folky feel and stories to tell. The band is fronted by James Rees, singer-songwriter from Pontardawe, with wonderful harmony vocals by his daughter Mai (a formidable artist in her own right) and Amy Slater, a music therapist from West Wales. The rhythm section, Rob Jenkins and Chris Price, knit the whole thing together perfectly and the results are guaranteed to make you smile.
The Paul Edwards Band
A stalwart of the Swansea music scene, Paul & co always bring excellent vibes and will have you out of your seats dancing before you know it.
Eyesore The Minotaur
There’s a place where confidence and unease brush shoulders, where every story feels half-told and every chorus sounds like a secret you almost remember. That’s the terrain Eyesore The Minotaur navigates.
The name hints at myth, but not in any grand or theatrical sense. This Minotaur isn’t a monster lurking in the dark. It’s the figure still standing under the lights, marked but upright. There’s abrasion at the edges and warmth at the centre, the kind you only get from seeing something through.
