Rise and shine, Wild Buggers family! It is time to get those classic engines firing for our next official monthly cruise. On Sunday, 14 June, we are hitting the road for a spectacular 170 km full-day experience that takes us from the forest to the coast, and all the way back into the historic winelands.
This run is an extra special one for our club because it is being organized and hosted by Neil, Sherene, and Maddox. It is their very first time planning a run for the crew, and they have gone all out mapping an incredible scenic route packed with unique stops, brilliant photo opportunities, and top-tier club camaraderie.
Whether you are piloting a classic beach buggy, a roaring Baja Bug, an old-school VW Beetle, or any beautifully maintained classic VW, you belong in this convoy. It is an air-cooled VW cruise designed for the whole family, focusing on good roads, good people, and pure driving fun.
The Game Plan:
09:00 – 09:30 | Foresters Arms (Newlands): Sign in, grab a briefing, and fuel up with coffee.
09:50 – 10:45 | Groot Constantia: A scenic drive into the vineyards via the M3 and N2 for morning coffee and a private 45-minute guided tour hosted by Maddox.
12:00 – 13:20 | Simon's Town: A coastal cruise down to the seaside for a pit stop and an optional Submariners Tour.
13:20 – 14:20 | Cape Point Loop: Unbeatable coastal views and photo stops along Scarborough and Misty Cliffs.
14:20 – 15:00 | Kommetjie: Cruising over the historic Over Old Cale Cape Road for some pure, classic driving.
15:00 onwards | Constantia Rugby Club: We finish the day back on the winelands side for a well-earned lunch, excellent club vibes, and great company.
Run Essentials & Convoy Etiquette:
Fuel: Arrive with a completely full tank before we leave Newlands.
Safety: Stay in your lane, maintain a safe following distance, and keep an eye on your rear-view mirror so we do not lose the car behind us.
Pace: No racing under any circumstances. This is a relaxed, social cruise.
What to Bring: Your ID, cash/card for lunch and tours, water, sunscreen, and your best positive vibes.
