Youโre invited to Wikipedia Day NYC 2026 to help us celebrate the 25th birthday of Wikipedia, the biggest online encyclopedia on the internet! Co-hosted with Wikimedia DC and the Wikimedia Foundation, together we will explore the past, present, and future of the free knowledge movement, and celebrate all the people, communities and ideas that make Wikipedia the backbone of the internet.
What to expect
- Keynote speeches
- Family friendly fun activities, including face painting
- Panels & presentations
- Interactive edit-a-thons and beginner-friendly training workshops
- Cultural activities celebrating global stories and local histories
- Swag and merch giveaways (including 100 screen-printed tote bags, available on a first come first serve basis)
- Lots of food, drinks, birthday cake & community-building
Important Information
- Registration requirement: For security reasons, all attendees must have a Wikipedia account to register. The registration list, including names and contact details, will be shared with our internal Trust & Safety team, and may also be shared with the English Wikipedia Arbcom. You can create your account by registering for the event by following this link
- Security protocols: On-site airport style security procedures will be in place, including bag checks and metal detectors. Please allow extra time when entering the building.
- Code of Conduct: All attendees must abide by Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct and Photo Consent Policy.
