βοΈ Introduction to Historical Swordsmanship! π‘οΈGo beyond movie myths! Join the Phoenix Society for an exciting, hands-on introduction to Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). You will learn to wield a sword using authentic, historically grounded techniques preserved by medieval masters.
What You Will Learn
In this class: You will learn the fundamentals of the longsword, based on the teachings of medieval Italian fencing master Fiore dei Liberi (c. 1400).
We'll cover basic footwork, guards, and essential cuts in a safe, structured environment.
Plus, if time allows you will get an sneak peek at some techniques for two other iconic weapons: the rapier and the sabre!
