REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BEGINNING AUGUST 3RD
Chicago for Chicagoans is excited to invite you back to explore Wicker Park with this recently refreshed 2-hour tour! Neighborhood enthusiast Charlie Ocasek will regale you with history while offering his unique insight on one of the country's "hippest hipster neighborhoods."
Beginning at the Damen Blue Line stop, the tour will go beyond the neighborhood's trendy first impression to cover its rich history, diversity, architecture, and landmarks. Discover the beautiful housing of "Beer Baron's Row" and the "Polish Gold Coast," explore the fascinating commercial legacy of Milwaukee Avenue, and learn how the area has changed dramatically since its humble beginnings in 1871. The afternoon will end with a visit to Paulie Gee's Slice Shop for some tasty pizza. Come discover your place in space!
Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too! We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates inclusive walking tours by & for Chicago residents, designed to represent the histories of all Chicagoans.
