Did someone mention bonding with our fellow trash picking enthusiasts? And THEN #treatyoself to the best neighborhood vegan ice cream?
About this Event

Since the Cleanup Club's inception in 2020, our volunteers have helped remove more than 25K lbs of litter from our beloved city streets! For this event, we'll be teaming up with the friendly neighborhood Garbage Gals who are no strangers to keeping Wicker Park shiny. Our next spot shall be mighty fruitful as we aim to tackle underneath some of the *accessible* I-90 overpasses on Division St before heading North along Noble St and ending with a tasty vegan / GF ice cream treat at Vaca's Creamery, sponsored by Brad Zibung of Chicago Residential Partners!

Date: Sunday, June 23rd

Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: We'll be meeting on the northeast corner of Division St and the I-90 exit ramp going South (the nearest address is the BP Gas Station just west of where we'll be meeting). Please keep an eye out for our green Cleanup Club sign!

Social Outing: No better way than to celebrate with ICE CREAM at beloved neighborhood Vaca's Creamery (GF / vegan options at this walk-up window) with nearby Pulaski Park to sit a spell. Even better, this ice cream will be COVERED by Brad Zibung of Chicago Residential Partners!

Supplies & What To Bring: We will provide grabbers, bags, and gloves. We recommend that everyone please bring their own 5 gallon bucket, water, and sunscreen. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear close-toed shoes!

How to Get There: As we are an environmental organization, we strongly encourage taking public transit, walking, or biking to the event if possible (our cleanup is right next to the bus stop). Additionally, there is minimal parking at this location, so if you do bring a car, please allow extra time to find parking and walk over.

PLEASE NOTE:

To fully register for the event, we will need your first name, last name, email address, and answers to both of our custom questions. If your registration is incomplete, it will be canceled. Thank you in advance!

Please note the following cleanup rules:

Safety First: Wear durable, appropriate footwear that you don't mind getting dirty. If you find any items that present a biohazard, such as needles, please leave them, as we don't want anything poking through a bag and injuring someone. We also recommend avoiding broken glass. Do not do anything that you feel uncomfortable with or that puts you in danger.

Kids and Dogs: The minimum age for participation is 8 years old, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. You are responsible for you and your child's safety. Additionally, we ask that you do not bring your dogs to cleanups.

Photograph and Video Waiver: Photographs and videos are taken at the cleanups and include participants. They are typically used on social media, but may also be used for marketing or promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have photo/video taken of you, then you are responsible for letting the leaders of each individual cleanup know and we will do our best to avoid taking photos and video with you in it. We cannot guarantee that you will not be in the background of any photos or video. Therefore, all participants must consent that any photographs or video taken of them or their minor, purposefully or inadvertently, can be used on social media and/or for marketing and promotional purposes by the Cleanup Club or any affiliated groups.

Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk: You are completely responsible for your own safety - please pay attention at all times and avoid any areas or items that are hazardous. By participating in any of the Cleanup Club events and/or allowing a minor (under the age of 18) to participate for which you have legal responsibility as a parent or guardian, YOU ARE HEREBY VOLUNTARILY CONSENTING TO SUCH PARTICIPATION, and on behalf of yourself, your heirs, assigns, and next of kin, RELEASING AND HOLDING HARMLESS the Cleanup Club or any affiliated organizations and its administrators, members, agents, employees, associated personnel, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), from any and all claims, demands, losses, and liability arising out of or related to any ILLNESS, INJURY, DISABILITY OR DEATH, THEFT, OR LOSS you may suffer, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

By registering for this event, you attest:

“I have read the rules and fully understand and agree to them freely and voluntarily without any inducement, including but not limited to the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk set forth herein above. Additionally, I consent that any photographs that are taken of me while attending an event can be used for social media, marketing and/or promotional purposes by the Cleanup Club or any affiliated organizations.”

Cancellation Policy: If for any reason you decide you cannot attend this event after signing up, PLEASE cancel your registration. This allows us to open up spaces for other people, and get a more accurate estimate of how many volunteers will be attending.

Please email us at if you have any further questions. Please follow our for other cleanup events. We look forward to seeing you there!
