We’re bringing together divers, scientists and marine advocates to share what we’re seeing below the surface and opportunities to respond as a community.
In collaboration with Eyrelab, Whydive, and the Great Southern Reef Foundation, this event connects lived underwater experience with practical action.
What to expect:
Screening — White Rock
A short film by the Great Southern Reef Foundation exploring the rapid spread of longspined sea urchins and what it means for Australia’s kelp forests. From science to seafood, this film is a call to action to save the Great Southern Reef.
Manny Katz (Eyrelab & Whydive)
Manny will share updates from his oyster restoration projects and reflect on the recent algal bloom and its local impacts. It’s a chance to hear directly from someone working hands-on in the water.
Divers for Climate
We’ll step back to look at the bigger picture. How are climate-driven marine events affecting the dive and marine tourism sector, what divers are noticing firsthand, and how those observations are helping shape constructive conversations with decision-makers.
This is a relaxed space to connect with South Australia’s dive and marine community, learn more about restoration efforts, and spend time with others who care about the places we dive.
Whether you’re a diver, snorkeller, freediver, marine professional or simply curious, we’d love to see you there.
