Why Your Horse Seems “Difficult” – And What to Do About It - Workshop with Dr Shelley Appleton
Most horses are not difficult.
But many horses are misunderstood.
There is a point where behaviour stops being about attitude and starts being about something else entirely. Something subtle. Something layered. Something that sits underneath what we see on the surface.
Tension. Inconsistency. Resistance. Reactivity. Flatness. That feeling that something is not quite right.
Often we respond to what is obvious. We adjust the training. We change the feed. We try a different exercise. We question ourselves. We question the horse.
But what if the behaviour is being shaped by factors most people never think to assess?
What if the “difficult” moments are not personality traits, but information?
In this workshop, I will take you beyond surface interpretation and into the deeper dimensions that shape how a horse feels, moves, and responds. Not in a dramatic or overwhelming way, but in a structured, practical way that changes how you look at behaviour.
When you see the whole picture, patterns emerge. When patterns emerge, decisions become clearer. And when decisions become clearer, both you and your horse feel more confident.
If your horse has ever felt tense, confusing, resistant, reactive, or simply inconsistent, this workshop will shift how you understand what is happening.
Join me at my Whole Horse Workshop - Raising Awareness of All the Dimension that Shape Your Horse.
