Learn about and discuss Dr. Matthew Walker’s seminal book, “Why We Sleep.” We humans need 7 or more hours of sleep in order to stay healthy in both mind and body. However, one in three persons in the US reports not getting enough rest or sleep. Discover the sleep stages involved in dreaming and a 12-point plan promoting good sleep outlined by Dr. Walker.
This Book Talk is a part of Dr. Gray's ArtX/ First Friday Installation, “Dreamscapes Unveiled: Exploring Sleep, Dreams, and Art,” on display at Open Door Art in Action Gallery at 423 Beaver Street from May 17th- June 8th.
Michelle Gray, PhD, ICF Professional Certified Coach, is the Creative Director for Dreamscapes Unveiled. Michelle began as a performance artist/ expressive arts therapist in the 1970’s. She then worked as a Jungian Psychologist and Corporate Executive Coach. In “retirement”, Michelle has focused on Authentic Path Coaching, Creative Depth Facilitation, and creating dream-informed, mixed media art.
Sara Gibson, MD, has been a public health psychiatrist for 30+ years as a nationally recognized expert in telemedicine, and has provided comprehensive psychiatric services to rural Apache County solely via telemedicine since 1995. She is passionate about providing highest quality, holistic and trauma-informed medical care to underserved persons and places.
