About this Event
This talk is given by Robert Rasmussen, co-creator of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology.
Many teams invest significant time in strategy discussions, yet still struggle to achieve shared understanding, commitment, or coordinated action. In academic and knowledge-intensive environments, strategy often fails not because of poor ideas, but because groups rely too heavily on abstract discussion and under-designed conversations.
Drawing on over twenty years of experience designing and facilitating strategic processes, Robert explores why traditional strategy conversations so often break down — and what LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® reveals about how groups actually think together. Using examples from academia, the public sector, and industry, he will outline key principles for enabling deeper collective sense-making, surfacing assumptions, and building genuine ownership of strategic direction.
The session is conceptual and reflective rather than instructional. It introduces the thinking behind LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® without training participants in the method, and is intended to stimulate new perspectives on how teams approach strategy.
