The first Pranksters production at GLive’s Bellerby Studio Theatre is Brian Clark’s powerful, moving and funny “Whose Life is it Anyway”, a play that won the Olivier Best Play Award in 1978 and gained Tom Conti the Tony for Best Actor on Broadway for his performance of Ken. Ken is a young, talented sculptor. Confined, paralysed, to a hospital bed following a road accident, he contemplates his future. Ken’s debate with the hospital authorities is most timely and decades later the question remains the same - whose life is it anyway? Inspite of the serious subject matter, because of Ken’s incisive wit and his interaction with the other vivid characters, the play is funny and entertaining.
