Who We Art: Haitian Art in New England

Presented in partnership with the Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts (HAAM), this evening celebrates thirty years of Haitian artistic excellence in Greater Boston and the artists whose work continues to enrich the region's cultural life.
The program will feature a conversation on the history, evolution, and lasting influence of Haitian art in New England, bringing together artists and cultural leaders from across the community. The discussion will be moderated by Carey Dardompré and feature Joseph Chéry, Joane Buteau Dumont, and Charlot Lucien, Director of HAAM.
In conjunction with the event, the French Library Gallery will present a special exhibition showcasing works by Nixon Léger, Joseph Chéry, Charlot Lucien, Joane Buteau Dumont, Mimi Désir, Fritz Ducheine, Robenson Joseph, and Ram Colimon.
Guests will also have the opportunity to meet the artists and explore Who We Art: 30 Years of Haitian Art in New Englandduring a book signing. The evening will conclude with a reception featuring traditional Haitian delicacies.
