Cyanotypes: A Ritual for Letting Go led by Madison Nunes
In this workshop geared for all experience levels, turn the chemical process into a ritual of letting go. Bring an object symbolic of what's weighing on you and capture it with the Cyanotype process. Cyanotypes are not as light-fast as other photographic mediums, making them the perfect objects and visual reminders to channel release as they fade over time. Supplies and guidance will be provided to make a cyanotype from start to finish, but attendees will need to bring their own objects for the contactless prints.
Benefits:
This workshop provides an outlet for folks to play with temporality and move away from the idea that there is one perfect way to create! The slightly unpredictable process of working with contact prints leaves room for whimsy, joy, and release.
Info on our non-profit partner: drawchange
Established in 2009, we are a 501c3, Atlanta-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering impoverished children through the use of art therapy-based programming.
Our programs instill coping skills that foster Self-esteem, Imagination, Collaboration, Empowerment, Dream-building, Creation, and Stress-Relief. Our curriculum is crafted by licensed art therapists to instill healing and resilience that children carry into every aspect of their lives. We do this by partnering with homeless shelters and community centers where the children are already residing. Through developing a consistent safe space, we change the trajectory of their emotional health and future success. Our goal is to ensure that every child in our programs develops the emotional resilience necessary to face the challenges of life, the character to excel academically, the skills to collaborate with their peers, and the creativity to dream and reach far beyond their current circumstances.
