About this Event
White Rabbit Red Rabbit
Presented by Threshold Arts
Burning Coal Theatre | Raleigh, North Carolina
A global theatrical phenomenon unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
In White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour, the actor has never seen the script.
There are no rehearsals. No director. No preparation.
At the beginning of the performance, the actor walks on stage, opens a sealed envelope, and begins reading the play for the very first time — live in front of the audience.
What unfolds is surprising, funny, unsettling, and deeply human.
The actor and the audience discover the play together in real time.
No two performances are ever the same.
Every actor brings a completely different perspective to the script, turning each performance into a once-only theatrical event.
You are not just watching the play.
You are part of the experiment.
Six Performances • Six Actors • Three NightsFor this special Threshold Arts production at Burning Coal Theatre, a different actor performs the play each time — encountering the script for the first time on stage.
Two performances take place each night at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, allowing audiences to experience two entirely different performances in a single evening.
