About this Event
Steeped in history, white oak basket making is an important folk craft and a Virginia tradition. Join Page County basket artisan and Virginia Folklife mentor Clyde Jenkins for a basket making session using historic techniques that have been handed down through the generations.
Structured for beginner to intermediate basket makers, this activity includes all materials needed to make one basket and includes a demonstration on classic basket making.
Join us at the Jackson Umberger Homestead to keep this important tradition alive and take part in something that is both fun and educational.
