Join us in the studio for a 2-part Gnome hand- building workshop! This course is designed for determined beginners or true intermediate hand-builders, as some experience with the fundamentals of ceramics is needed. With our dynamic duo of instructors, Heather and Renette, you'll be guided through building your very own gnome. It's highly encouraged that you find inspiration online before class begins so you can dive right into building when class begins. All materials and clay will be provided for you to mold your gnome and add any fun details like hat design, handheld pieces, etc. After the first class, your gnome will get to slowly dry until it's ready to be bisque-fired and then you'll get to explore glazes in class day 2! Using different glazes really create dynamic pieces, so we're excited to offer not only our entire selection of stroke and coat glazes, but additional Amaco and Mayco options for use. We'll handle the glaze firing for you, and let you know when you're gnome is ready for pick up! Day 1: Assemble Your Gnome
Saturday March 7th 11AM-3PM
In the first class, you'll be provided all of the tools and instruction to build your very own garden gnome. Browse inspiration before class commences to be prepared to hand build all of the details to bring your gnome to life.
Day 2: Play With Glazes
Saturday April 4th 11AM-2PM
By the time the second class begins, your gnome will have been bisque-fired so this session is reserved for trying new glazes and fun techniques to dress them up. You'll have a wide selection of stroke and coat glazes as well as some additional options from different Mayco and Amaco glaze lines.
No partial refunds or make-up instruction will be provided if one session is missed. Please make sure you are available for both sessions of this workshop before registering. For enrollment cancellations, please email us at [email protected] at least 2 weeks before the start of the first session.
Ages 16+, pre-registration required.
