Readings begin at 4:30 PM
Catharine Clark Gallery, 248 Utah St. San Francisco, CA 94103
Join us at Catharine Clark Gallery on January 11th for the closing event of Julie Heffernan's solo exhibition "Whether You Fall."
This special evening features an ekphrastic poetry reading, where distinguished Bay Area poets will share their interpretations of Julie's work. Ekphrasis, as defined by The Oxford Classical Dictionary, is "the rhetorical description of a work of art." As poet Paul Valéry notes in Edward Hirsch's A Poet's Glossary, "Each work of art demands its response."
Curated by Annice Jacoby and Maw Shein Win, the evening will feature readings by:
- Adrian Arias
- James Cagney
- Jennifer Futernick
- Heather June Gibbons
- Yiskah Rosenfeld
Admission: $5 (includes commemorative art postcard featuring exhibition artwork and poetry)
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
For questions and inquiries, please contact Halden Willard at [email protected].
