About this Event
LADY FLOWER GARDENS is a not-for-profit which maintains a 1-acre vegetable garden with people who have experienced signficant obstacles to their health and wellness including substance use disorder. Last year, we donated approximately 28,000 lbs of produce to Edmonton's Food Bank.
LFG is located on one of the ninety-three acres which make up the New Jubilee Conservation Lands beside the largest old growth forest in the Edmonton River Valley. In the New Jubilee Forest , you will find goldeneye ducks flying into nests made from snags, and Ovenbirds watching from their home in the understory. If you love bats, birds, mosses and lichen you will love the New Jubilee Forest. Come out and make friends with a few new trees and maybe even a few new people.
The day will consist of 5 synchronous walks guided by experts in their field. To close the day we will all meet at the Yurt to share light drinks and snacks and to also share some forest knowledge with the EDMONTON RIVER VALLEY CONSERVATION COALITION
The tours will be enjoyable for anyone who can comfortably walk 2 kilometres. And for the people who would like to just hang out in the sun, or the shade, by the yurt and enjoy the vista and the sounds of nature, then feel free to do that at one of the prettiest farms in all of Edmonton, on May 24th.
This site has out houses but the owner has an accessible bathroom that can be opened if you need wheelchair access.
