About this Event

About the Event

Join IDHA and the Foundation for Community Psychoanalysis on Tuesday, August 19 for an in-person screening and discussion about the film .

This documentary offers a searing window into the realities of life under Israeli occupation. Filmed in the occupied West Bank, it weaves together the voices of journalists, therapists, grassroots organizers, and survivors to explore the enduring impact of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and the deep roots of Palestinian resilience. Through stories of displacement, imprisonment, and everyday resistance, the film grapples with the human cost of ongoing occupation – and collective yearning for justice, dignity, and healing.

After the screening, we’ll gather for a facilitated group discussion focused on solidarity, witnessing, and healing as essential practices of resistance. The evening will also include opportunities for somatic grounding, honoring grief, and sharing community-based resources. Light refreshments will be served.

This event is open to mental health workers and clinicians, researchers, educators, activists, survivors, peers, current and prior service users, writers, artists, and other advocates – anyone who is interested in exploring the link between personal and societal transformation.

After registering via Eventbrite, you will receive a confirmation email with event details.

For those outside the NYC area, Where Olive Trees Weep is available to stream on the . Donations are optional (minimum $0); all contributions support humanitarian aid in Gaza, trauma healing in Palestinian communities, and the planting of olive trees in Palestine.
