About this Event
Where Loss Meets Light
A Sacred Weekend Immersion for Grief, Healing & Remembrance
May 2–3 | Charleston, SC
In-Person Retreat
There is a kind of grief that doesn’t have a clear story.
It’s not just about who you’ve lost.
But the grief of what you didn’t receive…
…what you expected and never got.
The grief of the world, of the Earth, & the grief carried in your body that may not have begun with you.
For many of us…
…this grief lives like a silent, bottomless well beneath the surface of our lives.
You may have touched it before…
…in therapy, quiet moments alone in nature, or when life events open you up to the vulnerability & humility of feeling completely out of control…
…and suddenly, your tears feel bottomless or don’t quite make sense.
Not because you’re weak or doing something wrong, but because the grief of being human needs acknowledgement.
A Space Most People Have Never Been Held In
Most spaces don’t know how to hold this kind of grief.
So we move on.
We stay functional, or try to “keep it together”.
We tell ourselves we should be “okay” by now.
But unexpressed grief doesn’t disappear. It settles in your body and shapes how you relate…and can keep you stuck in ways you might not be able to name.
Something in you knows life holds something for you…
Light
Ease
Purpose
Connection
Love (& Self-Love)
And…you have the power to access all of that through the acknowledgement, feeling & trusting of your grief.
You simply need to have space, guidance, and support to go there.
Loss Meets Light is not a space to fix your grief, or talk it away…
This is a guided, experiential weekend immersion where your body, heart, and spirit are directly engaged in the process of grieving and healing.
A space to meet what is real.
Because there is a different kind of medicine that happens when we grieve together.
Something ancient awakens & we remember we’re not alone.
Grief Takes Many Forms
This space welcomes grief in all its expressions.
You may be carrying loss & grief around:
- A loved one
- A relationship
- A dream or the life you thought you would have
- Identity or sense of self
- Stability, work, or direction
- What you never received
- Global events or the state of the world
You do not need a clear story. If something in you feels any of these…that is enough.
You May Feel Called to This Experience If…
- You sense a deep well of emotion that doesn’t have a clear origin
- You’ve done healing work, but know there is greater depth to access
- You’ve been holding it together on the outside, but something within feels unresolved
- You feel pressure to be “okay” or to have already moved on from your sadness
- You feel grief connected to your childhood, your lineage, or the state of the world
- You long for a space where nothing in you has to be explained or justified
- You’re ready to stop holding it all by yourself
Why Grieving in Community Matters
Grief was never meant to be carried alone.
When it is witnessed in a welcoming, supportive & trauma-informed space:
- Your body softens
- Isolation begins to dissolve
- What feels overwhelming can be met with compassion & gentleness
And you remember: You are not alone.
