About this Event
In her new solo comedy storytelling hour, internationally touring, critically acclaimed, Berlin based and independent standup comedian from India, Anshita Koul, answers the absolutely unavoidable question (because she tried avoiding it for five years), not with a quick retort, but by telling a short story, long— hoping the audiences are sighing, laughing and crying, in no particular order.
Anshita has performed the show on a self-produced tour in 24 cities in EU including 3 Fringe Festivals and received raging five star reviews from a diverse, international audience.
Directed by one of India’s most brilliant comedians and Edinburgh Fringe Newcomer Award Winner (2023) Urooj Ashfaq, supported by Anshita’s cheerleaders and patrons all over the world and enabled by their therapist, Anshita invites you to a heart-breaking, mind-bending and booty-shaking true tale of love, loss and polite fiction.

Hazel A. from Copenhagen said, “Sooo f*cking riveting, hilarious, touching and honest! A comedy hour about some tough subjects, but guided by the warmest comedian.”
Geetha R. from Lausanne said, “What a show! Thank you for putting this out into the world. The storytelling was so engaging that even my ADHD brain stayed hooked for the whole hour!”
Hélène from Tallinn said, “Raw, biting, funny, and moving all at once. Anshita Koul offers not just comedy, but a piece of her journey, and I left with laughter, compassion, and a lot to think about. Her charisma and sharp delivery kept me hooked. She does not need props, costumes, or elaborate staging, just her, a microphone, and the honesty of her stories.”
Jason A. from Leipzig said, "I went in skeptical, not sure what to expect but Anshita hooked me right away with her personal storytelling — perfectly balancing moments that were hilarious with others that were deeply moving. She never lost me for a second. What began as a stiff crowd (myself included, guilty!) was soon won over with cheers, applause, laughter, and even empathetic silence when the set called for it.
