Join the Columbia Basin Chapter of the WA Native Plant Society for an in person evening with Tom Collins, Assistant Professor in the Viticulture & Enology (Wine Science) department at WSU Tri-Cities. Tom will share an overview of his research on the impacts of wildfire smoke on wine grape quality and taste in our region. Then, he’ll take us deep into the haze to unearth the smoke characteristics of specific native plant species and how they affect the fruit. How is the smoke of sagebrush different than that of rabbitbrush? It's a burning question we look forward to hearing answered. All are welcome to this free event! Where: WSU TC Wine Science Center (359 University Drive Richland, WA 99354) Room 202
