This class centers on performance, movement, and how to give a puppet focus and breath and bring a puppet to life. Students will learn a little bit about Bunraku puppets, an archaic form of traditional puppetry originating in 16th and 17th century Japan. Using brown paper and masking tape alone, students will build their puppets and learn to perform as a trio. In order for this to work properly and create the illusion, all three puppeteers have to learn to recreate anthropomorphic life-like movements and be completely in-sync with one another. If you learn these techniques you can learn how to bring any inanimate object to life.Ages 10+ Registration is required, register here: https://ewmlibrary.libcal.com/event/16585194
