Join Kelly Atkins (dj kat ) and certified Wheel of Consent facilitator and certified Internal Family Systems therapist Jessica Isadora for an intoduction and practice of this unique method of learning to be intentional, stating what you want clearly, being heard, and finding pleasure thru touch in a safe environment. We will only be touching hands to elbows. This is a great session for singles or couples to explore what are touch needs? How do we create a mindful and nourishing touch practice?
Based on the work of Betty Mattin ( Www.Betty Martin.org) The wheel of consent is:
The Wheel of Consent strongly emphasizes consent, not just as a one-time agreement but as an ongoing dialogue. Consent in this context means: Clear Agreements: Before any touch interaction, it's essential to establish clear agreements about who is giving, who is receiving, and the boundaries involved.

It is NOT a technique, or sexual technique , it’s a practice of awareness and mindfulness.
What is an example of the wheel of consent?
GIVING - “Would you like me to touch you?” (I am doing and it's for you) TAKING - “May I touch you?” (I am doing and it's for me) RECEIVING - “Will you touch me?” (You are doing and it's for me) ALLOWING - “Would you like to touch me?” (You are doing and it's for you)
On-site local friends, next Saturday 5-6:30pm by love offering…. Jessica Isadora is offering “Wheel of Consent” practice at Soul Studios. http://www.inneraliveness.com
Knowing from your body what you like, how you like it, and expressing it… and the feeling of being heard in detail, and responded to from honesty vs “I guess” or “I’ll do this if you do that” or grudgingly.. is a sensation to be cherished/savored. Do you know what a full on “yes” feels like? Or a “no” or a certain way to May it “okay” ? Do you recognize where your coming from underneath choices of yes or no or maybe???
This is a dive into healthy touch practice, hands up to elbows - that’s all. Become present to your body, to touch as a meditation, to awakening sensation of the healthy ways we can receive, and be present in the giving …. And voicing boundaries and honoring others boundaries.
Being present.
This practice is golden. Delivered and shared by Jessica Isadora a certified internal Family Systems educator and certified touch “Wheel of Consent” facilitator.
Join and return to deep embodied wisdom…
This is being offered for a love donation ($10-20 suggested) before our Ecstatic dance that begins with meditation at 6:30, dance 7-9pm.
