Addressing Child and Teen Behaviors that Challenge Us Through the Lens of Childhood Trauma Research
About this Event

Childhood trauma can have a profound impact on human development. Sometimes, the youth we care for engage in behaviors that challenge or perplex caregivers and professionals. This training will support participants in making sense of behaviors through the lens of childhood trauma and will introduce participants to interventions supported by childhood trauma research for addressing behaviors that challenge us.
Objectives:
Participants will: 1) Discover ways that childhood trauma can influence brain development and behavior 2) Increase ability to make sense of a child’s behavior in the context of their past trauma 3) Practice developing an attitude of curiosity toward challenging behaviors and identify common needs met by these behaviors 4) Receive an introduction to strategies and skills to support youth in meeting their needs using more socially accepted behaviors 5) Increase understanding of different nervous system states and supportive responses for each state 6) Understand the difference between trauma-informed interventions and non-trauma-informed interventions

We are sorry, but due to the proprietary nature of the material presented, we don't record our trainings.
