Share stories and make art over soup, cornbread, and good company with Josephine Sculpture Park Artist-in-Residence, Ceirra Evans! We'll gather in the Paul Sawyier Public Library Community Room.Once we fill our bowls, Ceirra will facilitate a group story circle that invites us to share a food memory. Then, Ceirra will guide us through her "What's On Your Plate?" visual art project with a variety of materials, such as paper, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, and collage materials. You're welcome to bring your own supplies, as well. You may choose to submit an image of your artwork and a written copy of your story to Ceirra's collective zine project, to be published later this year.
Ceirra's residency centers community, food education and food justice in central Kentucky. Please consider bringing a non-perishable or canned food items to the workshop, which Ceirra will donate to the Emergency Community Food Pantry of Franklin County.
This residency is made possible by a grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women.
