Master the art of opening a hive with confidence at a workshop hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension’s Apiary Program on May 9, 2026.
Learn to identify the queen, assess brood patterns, recognize healthy versus concerning signs and develop a systematic inspection routine that keeps you and your bees safe.
The workshop will be presented by beekeeper Stephen Goewey from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the apiary located at the UMES Research, Extension and Teaching Farm on Stewart Neck Road in Princess Anne, Md.
The cost is $20 per participant and lunch is included. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
