Menopause is often reduced to hot flushes and “women of a certain age” But the reality is far broader, more nuanced and far more relevant to women across every stage of life than we’re usually led to believe. For this special (and highly requested) A Seat at the Table session on April 10, we’ll be speaking with not one, but two guests, bringing together clinical expertise and lived experience for a frank, empowering conversation about perimenopause, menopause and everything in-between.
We’ll be joined by Jude Harford, a nurse practitioner with eight years of experience in GP practice who now specialises in menopause-related health concerns. Jude works closely with women navigating the less-talked-about symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.
Alongside Jude, we’ll be speaking with Alison Malaki, who brings the perspective of lived experience. She has spent years researching menopause for her own wellbeing and will share what she wishes she had known earlier, offering insight and wisdom that can only come from having lived it.
So sit down with us to explore:
· What perimenopause and menopause really are (including the under-discussed, misunderstood and often dismissed parts of this life stage)
· Why menopause is relevant whether you’re in your 20s, 40s, 50s or beyond
· What symptoms to watch out for
· How menopause intersects with fertility, conception and contraception
· How to advocate for yourself when symptoms are dismissed or misunderstood
Join us for an evening of conversation, connection and community. As always, there’ll be delicious food, drinks, good vibes and a room full of brilliant women. I can't wait to see you all.
