Join Sheri-Ann Atuahiva (Team Leader, Māori Heritage team at Auckland Council) for this talk about how the Māori Cultural Heritage Programme partners with mana whenua of Tāmaki Makaurau to improve the identification, mapping, and protection of Māori cultural heritage in the city.
Auckland Council has Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and administers a legislative and policy framework that requires active involvement in the protection and management of Māori heritage.
Discover how this programme improves our understanding and appreciation of Tāmaki Makaurau's unique heritage and combines GIS technology with Māori cultural values in an innovative approach to planning.
