What is a trustee and how do I become one?

Session Aim: To be introduced to trusteeship and learn the principles of how to become one

We believe that so many people have the potential to be excellent Trustees, offering so much to a charity whilst also gaining great skills for themselves. We also know it's a volunteer role that's not overly known about.

Join us at this free session to learn what a trustee is, what the role means and how you could become one.

The session is free to attend with an option to make a donation of your choice in checkout should you wish to.

This session will take place on Zoom. The joining link will be sent in the Eventbrite confirmation email. You will also receive email reminders from Eventbrite 2 days, 2 hours and 10 minutes before the session starts. These reminders will also include the joining link.

The session will be recorded and be shared with you so you can rewatch.

If the session uses slides, we will send these to all who have booked a ticket following the session. Our panel sessions don't use slides. If having the slides prior to the session will make it more accessible for you, please email [email protected] and we will gladly send them to you.

As an attendee, you can enable closed captions during the session. For panels, we 'spotlight' panelists so the view stays consistently on those speaking. To celebrate Trustees' Week, our Festival of Trusteeship will bring together a huge amount of trustees, aspiring trustees, charity staff and governance specialists to take time to consider, reflect, plan and action all things trusteeship and governance. All of our sessions designed for aspiring trustees are free. All other sessions are £10 to attend. Our weekly pass, £25 for access to all sessions, is incredible value. We are able to run the festival at a low-cost and, hopefully, as a result more accessible, thanks to our wonderful sponsors Ecclesiastical.
