About this Event

What good support looks like?

Join us for an insightful session where we will explore the importance of what to expect from acute health care when supporting a person with learning disabilities to hospital. The session will also explore what the hospital expects from support staff. Our session will be held at the Whipps Cross Hospital Medical Education Centre Seminar room 3, facilitated by BARTS health trust & Significant7+. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your understanding of good support and to bridge the gap between services!

Programme – This will be a facilitated session between Barts Health (Patricia Handley Lead Nurse Learning Disabilities) and Tori Smith (Significant7+ Learning Disabilities Clinical facilitator)

We will cover a range of issues that are important to you and expect to discuss hospital Passport, discharges, what is expected of my role and what I can expect from the hospital, reasonable adjustments, planned and unplanned visits, mental capacity …. we will present some case studies.

Outcome – Increased confidence in supporting people with learning disabilities in the hospital setting through improved understanding of what good support looks like.
