Explain Adlerian concepts of encouragement, discouragement, belonging, and safeguarding as they apply to joining with clients.
Identify common client behaviors (e.g., withdrawal, compliance, confrontation) that indicate perceived threat within the therapeutic relationship.
Recognize clinician behaviors that may unintentionally increase client defensiveness or disengagement.
Distinguish between withdrawal-based and confrontation-based alliance ruptures.
