Leigh Henry has been making art her whole life wherever she found herself. Her mother was an artist and father, Army Engineer - moving around frequently she quickly learned to be flexible and resourceful, using materials she found.
She later studied art at The Corcoran School of Art (Washington, DC), Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA), Antioch College (Yellow Springs, OH), and Blue Ridge Community Colleges.
For almost 20 years she worked as an interior designer on a design team which designed 8 restaurants from Boca Raton to Cambridge, MA creating original artwork with her partner Kris Viemeister.
She has been painting with oils for 10+ years. Her works explore the precariousness of relationships, telling visual stories viewers can finish.
Her other projects include wood fired pottery (using clay she has sourced herself), bamboo sculpture, and carving local stones she finds on her adventures.
She currently resides and creates in the Shenandoah Valley.
